Client: Atavus
Project: The client wanted to make a platform to teach the shoulder-led rugby-inspired tackle for the game of American Football.

Process: (over 2 years)
- Discovery: Atavus asked there current customer base about the idea to have an online portal to learn the techniques of the shoulder-led tackle. We did further investigation into what problems the target audience needed to be solved.
- Building a team: This stage took a long time, yet it was important not to rush it. Finding the right team members, learning management system (LMS), and technology was the foundation of the project. This team then took the information from the discovery phase to develop a plan.
- Planning: There would be several moving pieces. We would need video, motion graphics, learning path, copywriting, photography, tackling experts, athletes, and all of the other small moving parts to make everything happen. In this stage, we created a timeline for execution by working sequentially through the process.
- Development: As the project manager of this process, my role was to make sure due dates were getting met, roadblocks resolved, and that there was clear communication amongst team members. I was also the main video editor, motion graphics animator, and front-end web developer. This put a lot of work on my plate and it was key for me to not hold anyone else back from hitting their due dates.
- Challenges: On a tight timeline, we did run into missed due dates, poor communication, and technology issues. Moral got low at times as well. With proper motivation, the team bounced back and rose to the occasion.
- Testing: When the product was about ready to launch, Atavus’ top customers got early access. With their feedback, the team made the changes. With the approval of the customers and the investment team, the project hit the ideal launch window.
- Launch and marketing: The Online Training Program (OTP) launched for a major Football convention. With new customers, Atavus needed to make sure their marketing plan was fully developed.
